We believe access to nutritious food, basic necessities, community support, and opportunities for a fresh start should never be out of reach.
Through food assistance, community outreach, partnerships, special distributions, and our Fresh Start Initiative, we are working to strengthen families and support individuals throughout Essex County, New Jersey.

Our mission is to nourish, empower, and strengthen underserved communities by increasing access to healthy food, essential resources, and compassionate support. We work to address food insecurity while creating meaningful pathways toward stability, dignity, and self-sufficiency.
What We Do
The Nourishment Project
Our Nourishment Project focuses on improving access to fresh, nutritious food and essential household resources for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
We work with community partners, businesses, volunteers, food distributors, and supporters to bring resources directly to the people who need them most.
Fresh Start Initiative
Starting over can be difficult without the most basic necessities.
Our Fresh Start Initiative supports individuals returning home from incarceration by providing Fresh Start Kits, essential supplies, resource connections, and community-based support designed to make the transition home a little easier.
We believe every person deserves the opportunity to rebuild with dignity.
Community Outreach & Special Events
BattleFly 1313 Inc. participates in community distributions, donation drives, resource events, and outreach efforts throughout Essex County.
From backpacks and school supplies to food, coats, blankets, hygiene products, and other necessities, our goal is simple: meet people where they are and help where we can.
Why BattleFly Began
My inspiration for The Nourishment Project began while working at a food pantry in Harlem, New York. What I witnessed there stayed with me and showed me the powerful difference a community-based food pantry can make in the lives of individuals and families.
During holiday distributions, the pantry was filled with energy as neighbors gathered to receive food and bring meaningful meals home to their families. It was more than food—it was community, hope, and dignity.
The Nourishment Project was born from that experience and from my belief that people deserve to receive assistance in an environment that recognizes their humanity. My goal is to build a program that responds to hunger while creating connection, hope, and greater stability.
There Is Power in Community
Lasting change does not happen alone. It happens when neighbors help neighbors, businesses invest in their communities, volunteers give their time, and people are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
