BattleFly 1313 Inc. – The Nourishment Project is a community-centered nonprofit working to increase access to nutritious food, essential resources, and compassionate support throughout Essex County, New Jersey.

Our Story

The inspiration for The Nourishment Project began while our founder was working at a food pantry in Harlem, New York. The experience showed how deeply a community-based food pantry can affect the lives of individuals and families.

Holiday distributions were especially meaningful. Neighbors gathered to receive turkeys and other food to bring home to their families. The pantry was filled with conversation, anticipation, and shared holiday spirit. It was more than food—it was community, hope, and dignity.

Those experiences became the foundation for BattleFly 1313 Inc. We believe people deserve to receive assistance in an environment that recognizes their humanity and treats every person with dignity, compassion, and respect.
